"Yuva Mahotsav" 09, November 2009
Yuva Mahotsav ’09 the annual youth festival of J.N.N.Y.C started with a drawing & painting competition on the 14th November at the J.N.N.Y.C campus. It was actively participated by the children and the art masters of the city who were seen supervising & encouraging. More than 300 children participated in this competition.
A bright sun shine welcomed the participants as they gathered at the venue in the early hours of 15th November for the cycle race. Due to huge turnout of the children the race had to be divided into different categories & batches which is sign of the event gathering popularity amongst youth. The race was flagged of by Shri Pankaj Bhatt CO city Police district Haridwar. For the first time some girls also came to participate which was very encouraging.
"Protsahan" our annual Art exhibition was inaugurated Shri K.C. Pandey Principal of DPS, Haridwar on 15th & was open throughout the festival.Through such exhibitions where we are trying encouraging the young talent by making them participate in an exhibition alongside some renowned painters. This year we had paintings by Shri P. K. Gupta the rebounded artist and by an up-coming art talent of the city Shri Ashwin Panwar.
On 16th the Volleyball tournament was inaugurated by Shri V. K. Jain AGM at B.H.E.L, Haridwar and this year the event was hosted at the international level volleyball stadium of B.H.E.L. The stadium as fantastic flood lights that enabled night games as well. On 18th the final match was played between team from Bhagiriti Club , Udhamsingh Nagar And Pac (B Team) ,Hardwar. It was a very well fought match and in the end the Bhagiriti Club won the match. Shri S.K. Luthra G.M at B.H.E.L, Haridwar the chief guest of the evening gave the prizes and facilitated the tournament organizing committee members.
In our endeavor to partner with local schools & social organizations this time we partnered with DPS & Bal Bhawan for organizing events together. We organized debate, essay writing competition and group song and group dance competitions for different age groups in their campuses. There was good participation from the city schools at all the events in-spite of the tight study schedules. All these events were judged by eminent educationists of the city.
One week of festivity came to an end with cultural evening on 19th.The cultural evening was inaugurated by Shri Subhash Kumar, Principal Secretary Govt. Uttrakhand by lighting the lamp and Shri Swatantra Kumar Vice-Chancellor of Gurukul University who was chief guest of the function. The evening started with the Ganesh Vandana which was followed by a demonstration of Tyke-won-do skills by children getting coaching at "Nehru Sports club" situated in our campus.
Performances by the winners of the group song and dance competition through the evening which kept the audience enthralled.
The landmark event during this evening was the launch of "Marg-Darshak" annual magazine of J.N.N.Y.C. Through this magazine our endeavor is to create a commune amongst the youth and the intellectuals of the city so that the youth benefits from this available knowledge base. The magazine has got contributions from people from all age groups and is well supported by our well wishers from corporate world.
The K.V.I.C sponsored Khadi fashion show with the theme "Khadi in modern times" was very popular amongst the audience. Through this show we are promoting the use of Khadi amongst today's youth and the event.
Winners of different competitions throughout the week and the signatories were facilitated. Dr Anand Ballabh Joshi was master of ceremony of the evening. With this the curtains were drawn for "Yuva Mahotsav '09".
